31:01

31:02
a. These are the Messages of the Book - The Divine Qur’an – full of Wisdom.

31:03
a. It is a source of Guidance and a Mercy for those who seek excellence in virtue.

31:04
a. Those who
- establish the Salat/Prayer, and
- pay out the Zakat/annual charity, and
- believe with certainty in the realm of the Hereafter.

31:05
a. It is they who are upon Guidance from their Rabb -The Lord, and
b. it is also they who are going to be the successful in the Hereafter.

31:06
a. And from among the people, there are some who engage in diverting talk over Allah’s Message
- misleading others from the Path of Allah without knowledge, and
- taking it in mockery as well.
b. Those - for them will be a humiliating punishment.

31:07
a. And whenever OUR Messages from The Qur’an are recited to such a person,
b. he turns away arrogantly, as if he had not heard them – almost as if there was deafness in his ears.
c. So give him the good news of a painful punishment.

31:08
a. As for those
- believe, and
- practice righteousness,

b. for them will be Gardens of Delight in Paradise -

a. living therein forever: never to leave, never to die.

عدالتی خلع اورپاکستانی عدالتوں کے فیصلوں کی روشنی میں اس کی قانونی بنیادیں Judicial Khul’ and its Legal Grounds in the light of Decisions of Pakistani Courts

The doctrine of Khul’ has, within the course of last few years, assumed a great deal of importance in Pakistan because literacy rate in women is increasing rapidly and their dependency on men is decreasing. Now, women can easily make their own decisions with free consent due to their some awareness about their rights, especially regarding dissolution of marriage. Majority of women is still ignorant about dissolution of marriage on the ground of Khul’. Therefore, it is very necessary to explain all different aspects of “doctrine of Khul’” for ensuring justice in our society. The present research has mainly explored the grounds of judicial Khul’ and other relevant incidents in the light of Pakistani Case Law based on Islamic family Law. The research is based primarily on the decisions of superior courts of Pakistan. The decisions of family courts of Pakistan have been included in the discussion. The relevant provisions of the Dissolution of Muslim Marriages Act, 1939 and the Family Courts Act, 1964 have also been debated. The difference between Khul’ and other modes of dissolution of marriage have also been elaborated briefly.

Influence of Professional Development Programmes on Teachers’ Beliefs and Classroom Practices: A Case of Two English Language Teachers from Gilgit-Baltistan

An increased emphasis is placed on the role of the teachers to cope with the rapid changing world. On the one hand, high importance is given to the professional development (PD) of teachers and on the other hand, a critical need exists to examine the influence of those professional development courses on teachers’ belief and classroom practices. Thus, the primary aim of this study was to investigate the influence of ongoing professional development on ELTs’ beliefs and practices in two private schools in Gilgit Baltistan, that undergone reforms through funded project. The study attempted to determine the influence of the programme on two English language teachers teaching beliefs and classroom practices. Both of the teachers had participated in different professional development courses and trainings. For this purpose, case study method was employed and the data were collected via semi-structured interviews, classroom observations, formal discussions, informal conversations and field notes. The data analysis revealed that both the teachers who had participated in the professional development programmes, demonstrated conceptual change about teaching and learning English, they displayed positive attitudes towards teaching and learning English and they have improved their teaching skills and classroom practices. The study found a complex and dynamic relationship between beliefs and practices. The teaching context and background were found as key factors that have greater influence on shaping beliefs and guiding teachers’ practices. Lastly, it was discovered that teachers’ personal capabilities and motivation play key roles in their development as a teacher. Finally, this study recommends that English Language teaching can be improved and made effective through providing professional development opportunities for the teachers.
